Vision Statement

The VISION STATEMENT of the Midway Co-operative Limited is to be the premier shopping destination in the communities we serve.

Mission Statement

The MISSION STATEMENT of the Midway Co-operative Ltd is to improve the economic position of members/owners by providing goods and services within a socially and environmentally responsible, finacially sound co-operative structure in such a way as to be recognized as the leader in the community.

Objectives

The OBJECTIVES of the Midway Co-operative Limited, as adopted by its Board of Directors to assist in the fulfillment of its Mission, are:

  1. Legislation
    To direct the co-operative according to governing legislation, regulations and the Co-op’s bylaws.
  2. Board of Directors
    To develop Directors into effective leaders who can work together in guiding the Co-op.
  3. General Manager
    To establish clear guidelines and expectations for the General Manager and encourage his/her development through a review and appraisal process based on these criteria.
  4. Human Resources
    To employ capable staff who are motivated to participate actively in the pursuit of the Co-op’s objectives and to provide opportunities for their development and advancement.
  5. Finance
    To be financially viable in local operations and to generate returns that ensures fiscal and future economic viability and development of the Co-op.
  6. Marketing
    To continually evaluate our members needs and wants, and clearly identify those market segments which we want to provide facilities, goods and services which will develop an image of quality, service and convenience that maximizes member confidence and commitment to the Co-op.
  7. Community Responsibilities and Involvement
    To develop and promote the Co-op as a valuable and integeral part of the life and culture of the community.
  8. Member Relations
    To encourage member involvement and commitment to the Co-op through ongoing member education, communication and provision of opportunities for participation.
  9. Co-operative Retailing System
    To participate fully in the ongoing development and rationalization of the Co-operative Retailing System.
  10. Co-operation with Sister Co-operatives
    To promote the co-operative movement by assisting and supporting sister co-operatives and working with them in areas of mutual concern and mutual benefit.
